Vanitas
My Vanitas pictures are inspired by 16th century Vanitas pictures, which is a genre in Still Life that depicts the inevitability of death and the ephemerality and emptiness of human life. I use the same motif in my Screen Print as in my Polaroid-Transfer, but the Polaroid-Transfer pictures not only depict the transience of life, they are, as photographic material, dissolving on the paper to which they are transferred.
